What is Porcelain Enameled Steel?
Porcewol by Alfher® porcelain enameled or vitreous steel is a beautiful, highly resistant vitreous surface that combines the beauty and durability of vitreous enamel with the strength of steel.
These qualities make it an ideal surface for a wide variety of applications such as walls, columns and facades cladding; ceramic-signs; doors; bathroom partitions; operating rooms; blackboards and furniture.
Our Process: Technology and Skill
The high quality porcelain enameled steel with which Porcewol by Alfher® fabricates all its products, it is manufactured with an extra flat steel sheet which can be die-cut or perforated according to the required design.
First, the base is created with a fluxed vitreous enamel, baked at a temperature of 820º C; and then the vitreous enamel of the required colour is applied and baked. In this process, the vitreous molecules and the steel sheet fuse and form a new material: porcelain enameled steel.
One of the most interesting applications of porcelain enameled is screen printing, which receives a third baking process and is ideal for all types of signage.
